Diagrams of E26,E27 LED Light Bulbs

From the appearance point of view, globe LED light bulbs and traditional incandescent bulbs look similar. However, in fact, the difference between them is tremendous.

Light Source: light source is the essential difference between LED light bulbs and traditional incandescent bulbs, and that is the reason why LED lights are much more efficient than incandescents. than using tungsten wires, LED light bulbs adopt LEDs (Lighting-emitting Diode) as light source.

Materials: materials are not the same, LED Light bulbs usually adopt mist glass and aluminum, while incandecents usually adopt transparent glass and plastic. Reasons for that: LEDs emit strong directional light (spot light), with transparent glass, the light would be harsh to make people feel uncomfortable. Therefore, it needs diffusion treatment defused lens. Moreover, LED light bulbs usually need aluminum heatsink for heat dissipation while traditiona incandescents do not their lamp bodies are usually made of plastic.

Driver: furthermore, LED light bulbs need drivers (or transformers) in order to be jogging in 110V or 240V high-voltage fittings, while the traditional incandescent light bulbs do not.

The picture below illustrates a typical globe LED light bulb exploded view. The light bulb is decomposed in to 9 parts as can be seen from the diagram. The following are the corresponding annotations.
