4. One early mass-installation of LED office lighting is the 2009 installation in the Manapakkam, Chennai office of the Indian IT company iGate. It spent 3,700,000 Indian rupees (US $80,000) to light up 57,000 sq ft (5,300 m2) of office space. The company expects the LED lighting to completely pay for itself within 5 years.

5. 2008 - Sentry Equipment Corporation in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin has lighten its new factory almost entirely with LEDs, both interior and exterior lighting. Although the initial cost was three times more than a traditional mixture of incandescent bulbs and fluorescent bulbs, the extra cost will be repaid within two years from electricity savings, and the led bulbs should not need replacement for 20 years.

6. In 2010, on the reconstructed section of Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra (King Aleksandar Boulevard) in Belgrade, Serbia, LED technology is used for new street lighting.

7. In 2009 the exceptionally big Christmas tree standing in front of the Turku Cathedral in Finland was equipped with 710 LED bulbs, each consuming 2 watts. It has been calculated that these LED lamps will pay themselves back in three and a half years. The bulbs will serve for a total of 48 days per year.
